Disney Animation steps up its game by delivering an animated film full of heart and emotion, packed full of enough video game references to please any gamer. Rich Moore’s Wreck-It Ralph is an adventure, which the whole family can enjoy, which makes great use of 3D and has a surprisingly detailed well-written story. The original idea is certainly an interesting concept for a movie.
The film’s premise is about Wreck-It Ralph who longs to be loved as much as his games perfect Good Guy, Fix-It Felix. The problem is, nobody loves a Bad Guy, but they do love heroes. When a modern, first person shooter game arrives, Wreck-It Ralph see’s the game as his ticket to fame and happiness. He sneaks into the game with a simple plan — win a medal — but instead reeks havoc and releases a lethal enemy that threatens every game in the arcade. His only hope is Vanellope von Schweetz, a young troublemaking “glitch” from a candy-coated cart racing game who might just be the one to teach Ralph what it means to be a Good Guy.
Wreck-It Ralph is one of my favorite Animated Movies and delves deep into the morals of the main characters. It’s a perfect movie for all ages and has many subtitles that aren’t as easy to catch as you would expect from a PG movie.
